The Kids Gun Safety and Basic Pistol Class is intended for children aged 11-17.
Course topics include: gun safety rules, difference between toy firearms and real firearms, what to do if you encounter a firearm, difference and proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, pistol selection and storage, shooting fundamentals, pistol inspection and maintenance, marksmanship, identifying and clearing malfunctions, and shooting range safety.
Additionally, students will complete live fire training at the range under the supervision of an NRA Certified Instructor.
Students will receive a Kids Gun Safety and Basic Pistol Booklet, and Right To Bear, Firearms Training Certificate of Completion upon completion of the course.
Class is $75 and the class fee is required to be paid in full upon registration. The classroom portion will be 3-4 hours long followed by another 1-2 hours at the shooting range.
Note: Parents/Guardians must be present when dropping off the children to sign permission and liability forms. Although parents are encouraged to stay for the duration of the class, it is not required. Parents/Guardians will return at the end of the course to transport their children to the shooting range for the live fire exercise.
